Just One Earth!!!

The moment I step outside my door
I see the rubbish heap has grown a lot more
Holding my nose, I hurry away
Towards the little place where I thought the trees sway
But when I arrive, oh what a shock!
This place is as bare as a rock
There are buildings that seem to scrape the sky
Leaving back all green trees to die
Where all those flowers used to bloom
Are now just stories, full of doom
In not just one country, or a nation
In this century, every generation
Doesn't care about nature's beauties
They seem too busy with their own duties
If only people would realize
That Mother Earth has a definite size
It won't grow with the rubbish you throw
Or the attitude you show
So please, reuse, reduce, recycle
For short distances, use a bicycle
Stop throwing litter everywhere
And make sure people are aware
That saving the Earth is  everyone's job
And if we don't do it, we won't have a log

    It shows your pain for our Earth and also makes us realize our responsibilities.

    I love this poem so, so much! You wrote it brilliantly! I really like the rhyming words, rhythm, effective word and especially the message you're trying to give, on how there's only one earth and we must be green (not literally green XD) to save it. In a nutshell, it's amazing! <3

Short Story~The Storm

Here is a story that I wrote recently on a topic of a past O level paper. Please keep in mind while reading it that this is the third draft  of the story. Feedback would be taken seriously and appreciated. An instantaneous splash of water landing on the deck woke up the sailor. He leapt out of bed and hurried up to the deck, hoping that all was well. The situation was worse than he had anticipated. It was raining cats and dogs, accompanied by a very strong gale. The roar of thunder indicated the beginning of a storm. The bottom of the ship was already flooded about six inches deep with water and its level was increasing with the rain. The sailor quickly rang the siren for help and grabbed some buckets. Sleepy-eyed men came out of their cabins to help and he directed them towards the flooded area, where he handed out buckets and yelled out instructions. Poetry: To Dream

Hey there! I wrote a poem. This one took a lot more thought and effort than most of my poems - which are usually spontaneous, raw and emotional - that I don't post anywhere. I thought a lot about this idea and took almost a week to complete it. I also had to cut out several words, rearrange certain stanzas, and rewrite it a couple of times. I'm quite pleased with the result though - I think this is the best piece of poetry I've managed to write so far.  I would appreciate some feedback on it, if you have any, as I know this is far from perfect. Also, let me know if you have any suggestions for what kind of poetry I might write next. I could do with some new ideas.
