A poem about my Friends

dedicated to our friends, Azka, Ayan, and Abiha

You are the best friends we've ever had
Please don't ever leave us, that'll make us sad

All the lovely memories include you and us
You're the ones whom we really really trust

Two is a couple, three is a crowd
But together we're six, (and really loud!)

Remember the day we went together to a park?
All squashed up in a car, as happy as a lark!

And the times we sat down to play Taboo
Or hide and seek or just shouting Boo!

The hundreds of times we've had lunch and dinner together
All we haven't done yet is a great big sleepover!

We meet you every week, and sometimes more often,
And through letters and emails and chats now and then!

Friends we are and friends we remain
Till the last day, or till we're all slain.

    Aw, this is a really lovely poem! <3 I really love how you've made the syllables in each line close in length to create the rhythm. And the rhyming words you chose are a great pick too! Awesome poem, keep it up! Did you share this because it's Valentines Day today? :D

      Thanks so much! You really made my day! And no, I didn't share it because of Valentine, I had written it a few days ago, and I decided to share it as well when I sat on blogger. :) And by the way do you actually celebrate Valentine? Just asking, don't answer if you don't want to. :)

      Well it's not really "celebrated" in Pakistan, in some schools and hotels it is celebrated but not generally.

      Oh, I see. It's not such a *big* celebration here either. It's just some people get Valentines and maybe they do a few Valentines day themed things, oh, and of course things in the supermarket (for publicity XD). I think it's more of an online thing than an offline thing. (Hey, Azka, how are you? Long time no see!)

      Here, few people actually celebrate Valentine's day. Many people don't even seem to notice it or if they do, they just kind of ignore it. Some people put up banners saying:' Say No to Valentine's Day' or something similar. It varies... :)
      Btw, I don't celebrate it. I don't think that love should be confined to a single day. Anyways, most people don't celebrate it, and unless you enter shopping centers or gift shops, it doesn't seem much different. :)

      Hey Kenza I am fine,and yes I haven't been visiting mine or anybody else's blogs for a long while but I do opperate my email account regularly, and if you want to contact me using my email address you could always take it from Fatima.
      Oh! and Fatima I think you've got a point there "love shouldn't be confined to a day"

      (@Fatima) Yeah, you've got a good point there. Although I hear some people like to think of it as a day to love your family or friends, rather than a boy-girl romance thing. I don't really celebrate it much either, come to think of it - maybe I do something online though. XD I've never received a Valentine before, and I really don't want to get one - if I did, I'd rip it up the letter/trash the email and teach whoever sent it a good lesson (if I found them!) X'D

Short Story~The Storm

Here is a story that I wrote recently on a topic of a past O level paper. Please keep in mind while reading it that this is the third draft  of the story. Feedback would be taken seriously and appreciated. An instantaneous splash of water landing on the deck woke up the sailor. He leapt out of bed and hurried up to the deck, hoping that all was well. The situation was worse than he had anticipated. It was raining cats and dogs, accompanied by a very strong gale. The roar of thunder indicated the beginning of a storm. The bottom of the ship was already flooded about six inches deep with water and its level was increasing with the rain. The sailor quickly rang the siren for help and grabbed some buckets. Sleepy-eyed men came out of their cabins to help and he directed them towards the flooded area, where he handed out buckets and yelled out instructions. His voice was barely audible over the heavy rain and thunder, but they seemed to understand. They went to work at once, fill

Poetry: To Dream

Hey there! I wrote a poem. This one took a lot more thought and effort than most of my poems - which are usually spontaneous, raw and emotional - that I don't post anywhere. I thought a lot about this idea and took almost a week to complete it. I also had to cut out several words, rearrange certain stanzas, and rewrite it a couple of times. I'm quite pleased with the result though - I think this is the best piece of poetry I've managed to write so far.  I would appreciate some feedback on it, if you have any, as I know this is far from perfect. Also, let me know if you have any suggestions for what kind of poetry I might write next. I could do with some new ideas.
