Why should you have your blog & what can you do on it?
Hello Readers!
Sorry for not posting for a long time. Here is an article I and Zainab wrote for the Blogging Workshop we conducted. Zainab wrote it first, and then I edited it and rewrote the first two paragraphs. A week after the blogging workshop, it was distributed in the ERDC Seminar, Classwork Homework Interdependence, where it was distributed among about 400 people in the audience! (Cool, isn't it? I can only say that at least half the people didn't know it was written by kids!) Here it is:
Sorry for not posting for a long time. Here is an article I and Zainab wrote for the Blogging Workshop we conducted. Zainab wrote it first, and then I edited it and rewrote the first two paragraphs. A week after the blogging workshop, it was distributed in the ERDC Seminar, Classwork Homework Interdependence, where it was distributed among about 400 people in the audience! (Cool, isn't it? I can only say that at least half the people didn't know it was written by kids!) Here it is:
During our childhood, we all do some amazingly creative
work, like a piece of artwork, an interesting story, some craft work, and more,
which is really appreciated by everyone around. But of course, it won’t stay
forever. After some time, the stories written with ink fade away, and the
drawings get ripped and torn, and a time comes, when these things are thrown
away.
These things do not deserve to be thrown away. They could
be the initial stages of a genius, or a scientist, artist, or writer for all we
know. These things need to be preserved and kept safely in one place where more
things are added as the child grows and produces more masterpieces.
Do you need a special place for that? Well, it’s already
there! Easy and free, a blog is the ideal way to preserve your work. It cannot
be torn, faded, deleted, thrown away, or lost. It remains there, recording your
archives along, preserving them, storing them in a place where they’ll remain,
safely, for you to open and read, over and over again.
A blog is really useful.
Apart from storing your work in one place, it gives you a platform, a
stage, where you can express yourself with anyone around the world. Anyone can be your audience and watch your
shows, shows that are a display of your creativity.
A blog is like your online notebook that will remain with
you. As your life progresses on, so does
your blog.
There are no rules about what to publish on your blog; you
can post anything you like. Here is a list of things you can share:
- Stories you wrote
- Your artwork
- Your dreams and ideas
- Your memories and experiences
- Quotes you like
- A description of a project you’re working on
- Poetry
- Riddles and puzzles
- Surveys/ polls you want to conduct
- Interviews you conducted
- Your observations
- Interesting facts
- Mind maps you made
- Photography by you
- Your travelogues
- Experiments you did
- Research reports
- Presentations you made
- Videos you made
- Book reviews
- Website reviews
- Movie reviews
- Blog reviews
- Certificates or awards of your achievements
- Or anything that you feel like…
These are just some ideas. You don’t have to do all of
them, but you can always get some tips from here.
But the most important thing I’d like you to know is to keep posting regularly. Because a blog
is made up of all the stuff shared on it, not the backgrounds, color schemes,
font types, and stuff. For a blog to be good, it isn’t necessary for it to look
good. It’s good because of all the good things it has on it.

This article is brilliant, Fatima and Zainab!! :D I think I remember reading it before - if I didn't mention it already, I think it's fantastic! You've really introduced the ways of blogging in an intriguing way! And are you kidding me? 400 people?? :O That's amazing! I'm sure they were impressed! It's really motivating. :D Btw, I think the new format of your blog is totally awesome! <3
ReplyDeleteAlso wanted to say Eid Mubarak! I hope you had a great time! :D (It actually started yesterday in the UK... has it started for you yet?) And I meant to say happy birthday for when your birthday was this month! (Sorry if I'm late, but hope you had an awesome day if it is! ^^)
Thanks a lot Kenza! Yes, I think you would have read it when I emailed it to you along with other stuff to distribute in the blogging workshop. :) Thanks! Do you really think so? In the seminar, it was distributed along with Alfie Kohn's article on Homework. (Isn't it awesome?! XD)
DeleteEid Mubaruk to you too! Yes, I did. :) Hope you had an awesome Eid too. :D It started on 18th July here, in Karachi and most of Pakistan, while in some Northern parts of the country, it started on 17.
And Omg, thank you so much, you were pretty close! My birthday was a day after you posted your comment! :D
(Wow, my reply is way overdue. XD) You're totally welcome! Yeah. XD Sure I do! Omg that's awesome! :D
DeleteThanks! Cool! I think it started for us on the 17th. Really?! What a coincidence! If I'd come back on a day later... well, that would be pretty cool. XD Hope you had a great birthday then! <3
Thanks! :D
DeleteYep, in many parts of the world, it started on 17th. It started on 18th here, and we got 29 rozas (days of Ramazan). Yeah, thanks! :)
You're welcome!
DeleteOh right. It started on the 18th in Morocco though too. :D
