My Reading Log

Hey Readers! Welcome back. I noticed that I hadn't posted on this blog for about two months. Not that I was very busy or anything, I just wasn't in the right mood for blogging. I guess you can assume that I'm back in the mood now, for I'm back with a new page element on my blog. I had been working on it for several weeks. It is a Reading Log, and you are most welcome to check it out. But before you do so, I must inform you about a few things related to this reading log.

First of all, this reading log is NOT a list of all of the books that I have read in the sixteen years of my life! That would be pretty much impossible to do. This reading log is actually a list of some of the books that I have read and enjoyed reading very much, or received some important lessons from. They include fiction and non-fiction books.

Secondly, I would like you to know that I am not rating any of these books. I would not like to say that the books listed at the top are any better than the books at the bottom of the log. It is simply an anthology of some of the books that have influenced me strongly in some way or the other, and I will continue to add more books to it in the future, as I read more and more of them.

Lastly, you will notice that after the title of each book, I have written a short description or review about the book. Please note that the reviews or descriptions of the books that I have given there are purely my personal opinion, and not any widely accepted facts or opinions related to those books. You may or may not agree with my opinions.

Short Story~The Storm

Here is a story that I wrote recently on a topic of a past O level paper. Please keep in mind while reading it that this is the third draft  of the story. Feedback would be taken seriously and appreciated. An instantaneous splash of water landing on the deck woke up the sailor. He leapt out of bed and hurried up to the deck, hoping that all was well. The situation was worse than he had anticipated. It was raining cats and dogs, accompanied by a very strong gale. The roar of thunder indicated the beginning of a storm. The bottom of the ship was already flooded about six inches deep with water and its level was increasing with the rain. The sailor quickly rang the siren for help and grabbed some buckets. Sleepy-eyed men came out of their cabins to help and he directed them towards the flooded area, where he handed out buckets and yelled out instructions. His voice was barely audible over the heavy rain and thunder, but they seemed to understand. They went to work at once, fill

Poetry: To Dream

Hey there! I wrote a poem. This one took a lot more thought and effort than most of my poems - which are usually spontaneous, raw and emotional - that I don't post anywhere. I thought a lot about this idea and took almost a week to complete it. I also had to cut out several words, rearrange certain stanzas, and rewrite it a couple of times. I'm quite pleased with the result though - I think this is the best piece of poetry I've managed to write so far.  I would appreciate some feedback on it, if you have any, as I know this is far from perfect. Also, let me know if you have any suggestions for what kind of poetry I might write next. I could do with some new ideas.
