Special Report: Handicraft Sale

When I woke up on the morning of 12th April, there was excitement in the air. Today, I, along with my siblings and close friends, were holding a great big event. This evening, we were going to hold a Handicraft Sale and Craft Exhibitions. Also, we were going to perform seven different poems of Allama Iqbal! This was going to be a great day!
This was a kind of fund raising event. You see, there's a drought in the desert TharParker, the largest desert in Pakistan. We had decided to donate the money to those drought hit areas.
We had made a 100+ Handicrafts to sell. The estimated income was around Rs. 2000.
When everyone was gathered, we started the arrangements and rehearsals. We were doing Craft Displays of Pottery, Paper Mache and Italian Dough. We were also displaying some things that we had made from wood in a Wood Workshop in L2L Academy. We all were very excited and the time hurried away. After endless rehearsals, setting everything, removing our to-do lists from the soft boards, and adding the last minute touches to our displays, we seemed ready.
At around 5:15, people started to come. Our main audience were the participants of PTTC, Batch 19. We had also invited our teachers, Ms. Tabassum Khalid, who has been our Art teacher and guide, after we started homeschooling. And we had also invited Sir. Ibrahim Ali, who is our Arabic Language teacher.
The sale went very good, and after some time, we began our third segment, Performance of Iqbal's Poetry.
Here is the poetry we presented:

Some were done Solo, some were in a chorus, and some where acted out. It went very well, we all remembered our lines, and we got wonderful feedback.
In the sale, Alhamdulillah, we managed to raise Rs. 3180. This was because several people gave extra money, because of our cause to donate the money.
We all enjoyed a lot. This was the second time we had done a sale like this. About 8 months back, we had also done a sale, like this one. We had donated the money collected there too, but this time was a lot better. Also, we collected about twice as much money as last time.
These kind of co curricular activities are really enjoyable and a great learning experience. The great thing was that this whole event was managed entirely by kids. When my parents saw the presentations, they were really glad and they were also proud that we had done it independently. It was done by me, (Fatima) and my siblings, Zainab and Ibraheem, and three close friends, Azka, Ayan and Abiha. All less than thirteen years old.
Anyway, it was a great day, and it seemed over as quickly as it had started. True, time really flies by when you're having fun!
